She had two weapons - her shield, Aegis, and her collapsible mace canister spear. However, Chiron had said that, on top of learning to control the Mist, she needed to be able to use more than one weapon. She was sure that he was letting Percy get trained in sword fighting only, because that was where he was the strongest. However, Thalia didn't have a weapon that she was strongest with, per se. She favored her spear, but that was personal. It could be a good thing to be able to switch in and out of weapons, to be able to pick something up and immediately know how to use it to make it the most effective. The way that Luke could go in between a knife and a sword, she wanted to be able to switch up what she used. So here she was, in the Armory, looking for a sword that would work for her. Thalia was quite picky when it came to these kinds of things, because she felt that she knew when she had found the right one. And until she did, she wouldn't take something that wasn't perfect in it's place. She was a perfectionist, but she was sure that had come in the all-or-nothing packaged deal that had been her Zeus-given genes.
She had picked up swords that were too heavy, and swords that were too light. She had picked up everything in between, gave it a little twirl, swung it at a dummy, but none of them were just right. Some of them came close, though. She felt like Goldilocks chick from the stories she had read to him when she had been younger. Blonde eyes, blonde hair - the same as the girl in the story, the same as her mother's. He hadn't taken after Zeus as she had. She shook her head, forcefully. She was looking for a sword. She was dealing with weapons, here. This was serious business. She bit down on her tongue, and eyed some of the Hephaestus kids that were coming in and out. To her knowledge, Beckendorf was in the Forges, and she was sort-of pretty glad. He probably would've laughed at her, his deep, rumbling laugh, and told her that she was looking the wrong way. He had that way about him - he could be nice when he wanted to, but he was also tall, huge, and strong, and could be intimidating just as quickly. Thalia, standing at 5'10, was a few inches shorter than Beckendorf - and even though she was only a few inches shorter, it felt like so much more when he was purposely being intimidating.
Irritated now that this was taking so long, Thalia held back Greek swearing at her missing luck. She was ADHD, as were all demigods, and she really didn't have patience to boot. Plus, she wasn't the tolerant person in the world - the swords weren't co-operating, you see. Therefore, Thalia wanted to take her spear to the swords, and see how badly they fared. The daughter of Zeus bit down on her tongue to hold back a laugh. She was pretty close to threatening inanimate objects. She didn't think that was normal. That really shouldn't have been considered even mildly, relatively normal. Then again, she wasn't normal either. She picked up one of the swords, and all of a sudden, it felt perfectly balanced in her hands. She raised an eyebrow, and lifted her hand slightly, to feel the weight of it and how it shifted in her hand while she moved. It was perfect, and the perfect size, too. Thalia with-held a grin, a smirk settling on her face. Maybe ... maybe she could break few rules, and challenge Luke the next time she was on guard duty. She went to turn around, when she heard a loud noise behind her, and she spun around to see what exactly she had heard.
