I CAN FEEL A PHOENIX INSIDE OF ME AS I MARCH ALONE TO A DIFFERENT BEAT SLOWLY SWALLOWINGDOWN MY FEAR YEAH I AM READY FOR THE ROAD LESS TRAVELEDThalia wasn't the type to seek out quiet. Really, quiet bothered her. Highly, in fact. She didn't like all the thinking room it gave her. When it was too quiet, her skin would itch and she would start to fidget and soon, she'd make her own noise. She knew how to be loud, she was damn good at it too, and it wouldn't have been a problem. But it was cold and she was tired and she didn't feel like dealing with people. All she'd done lately was avoid people, but that was okay. Her explanation was sitting in the Big House. Her fellow campers didn't understand it. After all, there were only a few that had seen Thalia and Luke when they had arrived to camp. The legend was passed down, yes, of Thalia's tree and what had happened. Was that the same? No. No one that hadn't been there could've understood the desperation, the fear, the agony, he'd known that she wouldn't make it safely to the top of the hill. Survivor's guilt, wasn't that what the technical term for it was? Honestly, she didn't think it could've been termed any better. Luke hadn't lived after that. He'd survived. Annabeth ... Annabeth had lived. But not Luke. And now she was letting her mind run over the same lines that she always did, the same thoughts she'd been having for days and it was making her angrier than she could ever explain. She needed to move on. It didn't matter. It didn't matter what she did or what she told herself she'd keep thinking about everything and anything that had to do with cabin six and the Big House and the two people that she cared about so deeply that lived there - one lived, one was held against his will, really - and it would continue to send her mind spinning.
She and Annabeth hadn't had a real conversation since Luke had been brought to camp, since Thalia had found out she was alright, since Thalia had made sure that she was okay and that she was alive, maybe not well but alive. She could be nursed back to health, but she couldn't be nursed back from the dead. Holding up the sky? She'd held up the sky. She'd held up the sky. There were times when Thalia's anger rose up in waves within her, crashing against her insides and washing away everything else, every other possible emotion she could have had within her at any other point in her life. Any happiness, any sadness, anything else was swept away in white hot waves that made her want to go straight to Kronos and show him that he didn't touch the people she cared about. She knew that Percy felt the same - she could see the way he cared for Annabeth, and even if she didn't like him much, she knew that he'd treat her well. Even if they didn't realize it yet. When she looked at them, she saw two different people. Blonde hair, black hair. Two sets of blue eyes. But it didn't matter. Everyone was different. Everyone had different destinies. Things would turn out better for them, if they did ever become more than just friends. Maybe they would just simply stay best friends and be partners in crime, like -- like nothing. They were their own people. Thalia stop it.
Strawberries. Red, juicy, poisonous to demigods, strawberries. They would've been grapes if Mr D. could be trusted. The thought of trusting Dionysus was funny in and of itself, and it made Thalia snicker mentally. The smell of grapes didn't do anything to her - she should've been scared. He was a god, right? She should have had more respect. Eh. She'd always been different. Plus, she was a daughter of Zeus. They were sort-of, kind-of, untouchable. To everyone but Zeus and Hera, of course. And monsters. Okay, so maybe they weren't untouchable - but they sure had a lot more leeway than some of the other demigods did. After all, if Zeus had even a slight liking for you, who would want to mess with a child of Zeus? Pissing off Daddy was pissing off the King of Olympus. She hated thinking of it that way, but sometimes she couldn't help it. Focus on something else. Focus on the ground. Focus on the sky. Focus on anything but the things you're thinking about. Relax. You've got afternoon guard duty with Luke, and patrol tonight, and you need to--, and her internal pep talk was ruined not by her internal monologue that had picked up the habit of interrupting any coherent thought she tried to have or any focus she tried to build, but by rustling to the right of her. She spun in that direction, hand going to her mace can and ready to flip Aegis at a moment's notice.

Jac Heart wasn't' a stranger to trouble, as a matter of fact, she was quite use to it. One could say that she and trouble were quite good friends, not that she would go looking for it. It just sort of, springs up, even back home in New Zealand she had a nack for finding it. It would seem even here, at this "special camp" she couldn't' outrun it, though she could try. But even then, that seemed to land her into even more trouble. It truly was a never ending cycle for the teen, or so she thought at any rate.
Another thing that wasn't a stranger to the young teen were fights. She had a fair few in Christchurch, but here, they seemed to have followed her. Jac wasn't a pushover by any means, even at fourteen she knew how to hold her own. But there were times where even she'd have to admit defeat. Or, more rather, turn tail and run like heck. Which would explain the current situation she found herself in at the present moment.
Jac's well worn in black converse shoes beat a quick path over the uneven earth, sharp even breaths burst free from between her lips. The teen moved quickly having had quite a bit of practice at it. The strawberry fields, quickly came into view, the smallest of smirks crossed her lips at the sight. The various bushes were nothing but a blur as she whizzed by them with not more then a passing glance.
Ice blue eyes flickered over her shoulder, it would appear the coast was clear. But something Jac always failed to do was, to watch where she was going. It did not take long at all for a tall brunette to suddenly -at least in Jac's mind- blossom before her.
"Holy...!" The sentence never came to completion as the teen, quite literally, dug her heels into the ground. A cloud of dirt dragged out from behind her. Jac's ever present trucker's cap tilted slightly at the sudden stop, smudged fingers reached up, grasping the harden brim and twisting it about on her head.
Wearing her trademark ripped jeans and over-sized shirt, Jac was the typical tomboy. "A'ight, and yo' came from...where?" The teen huffed, actually quite glad to have a moment to catch her breath as the question spilled forth, her accent thick within the words. "Coulda' ran yo' down"
The smallest of frowns crossed Jac's lips as her gaze turned studying, eyes darting from toe to head of the girl before her. "You look familiar, have I mowed you down before?" It was a serious question, at least for her as the blonde blew forth a pale pink bubble. It lived for a moment before bursting into thin air as she went back to chewing the wade of gum.

I CAN FEEL A PHOENIX INSIDE OF ME AS I MARCH ALONE TO A DIFFERENT BEAT SLOWLY SWALLOWINGDOWN MY FEAR YEAH I AM READY FOR THE ROAD LESS TRAVELEDBlonde hair and blue eyes with bubble gum. Call Thalia quirky, but she wasn't feeling the girl at all. Maybe it was because of the hair color, they eye color, and she wasn't going that deep into her past, not today she wasn't. It would be happening. Not at all, actually. Not just counting today, but she wouldn't think that far back, she wouldn't cause herself such a pain thinking like that. Thinking of how she'd been a failure, a failure more than one time for more than one person and it wasn't fair for her to be doing this to herself right now, especially in front of a girl that she didn't know, and if she did know, it wasn't on a first name basis, because she had no idea who she was. Then again, Thalia wasn't the best with names. She wasn't the best at remembering people who didn't really matter in her life. She wasn't the best at keeping track of things that weren't of day to day importance, that didn't pop up in her thoughts or that didn't have the information called on more than every so often. But his eye color didn't get called up at all, because no one but you knows about him, him and your mother, but she took him to the grave, and your father doesn't even care about him, because he has you and others and it's inconsequential, the loss of only one son.
The thoughts were shoved with lightning speed out of her mind as the girl started speaking. She'd been running, and she was catching her breath, so Thalia let her, eyeing her with an eyebrow quirked. This girl seemed like the average camper, but why had she been running? It was a strawberry patch, not a playground for an elementary school game of tag. Then again, knowing camp, it didn't matter what they did since the strawberries could easily be grown back. That was what happened when there was a goddess of the harvest hanging around, and that was also what happened when you had a sober wine god on the front of the Big House. She snorted mentally. She really should've stopped making fun of Dionysus, but he never got her name right, she'd never liked him, and he wasn't even worth it. Thalia shook her head when the girl asked her if she had "mowed her down" before. No, Thalia would've had a spear to the girl's neck if she had even done anything remotely to the effect of those words. She didn't do tolerance, she didn't do accidents, and she didn't do forgiveness. They weren't her style. "No, never. Be thankful for your own small mercies," Thalia said without much bite, and waited for the other girl to respond.

Fair eyebrows raised to disappear within the shadow of her overly long bangs as cool eyes stared at the girl before her. From what Jac could make up, the age difference between them, if there was one, wasn't' all that great. The chick was taller then her, that alone was impressive, it was often times hard to find someone that stood above Jac's 5'8" frame. Young though she was, that didn't' cut down on her height any. Her mother was just as tall, perhaps it was a family trait. Whatever the case, there was something within this girl's voice that rubbed the teen the wrong way. Just what that was, she could hardly begin to guess, nor did she have the patience to. A shift was given, a hand resting on her hip as Jac proceeded to blow and pop another bubble before commenting.
The silence hovered for a moment, the sounds of the camp quite clear around them."Chill, princess" Those two simple words fell from the girl's mouth as countless other subtle insults had many times before this one. Only two minutes of talking and already it would seem she had a little bit of an enemy. That had to be a record for Jac.
Her gaze flickered down, silently taking in the combat boots and allowing the smallest of snorts to come free at the sight. Fingers came up to scratch at the messy bun that rested at the base of her neck as various thoughts raced through the teen's mind."Got a name? Or, actually no, princess suits you just fine" Jac gave a small nod, thumbs hooking into the belt loops of her jeans as she tilted her chin slightly.
The motion allowing her to stare up at her fellow teen."Better question. Whatya' doing out here?" It never crossed Jac's mind that she could just as easily turn the question around on her. At the moment, the thief was just simply curious, like always.
Unfortunately for Jac, she rarely thought ahead in situations like this. Usually they were, what some would call, knee jerk responses. Not to say that the teen had a quick temper, but she could simply let her smart mouth get away with her. This, had the makings of one of those times. Basically, Jac trying to control her mouth could be liken to the Titanic trying to not hit an ice burg. It wasn't going to happen. And more often then not, got her into more trouble then it was worth.
* * * words;; no. of words thoughts;; Sorry!! Jac can be...seriously, rudely blunt sometimes >.>

I CAN FEEL A PHOENIX INSIDE OF ME AS I MARCH ALONE TO A DIFFERENT BEAT SLOWLY SWALLOWINGDOWN MY FEAR YEAH I AM READY FOR THE ROAD LESS TRAVELEDThalia glared at the blonde. Princess? What did she look like? She knew that the girl, with her eyes and hair and bubble gum, looked more princess-like than she did. With her freckles and dark hair and light eyes, Thalia wasn't anything special, in her opinion. Some of the Aphrodites had her features and looked ten times better than she did, not that she worried over her appearance. The only makeup she wore was simple and dark, and she didn't do it everyday, though she did wear makeup often. And that bubblegum. The blowing and the popping grated on Thalia's nerves more than she could explain in words, and really, she wanted to throw a nice shock at the next bubble that the girl popped - but she wouldn't risk hurting the blonde, not with electricity. If she was electrocuted, then it came right back to Thalia, If she was burnt, it also came right back to the daughter of Zeus. So no, she wouldn't be using her powers on this girl as much as she wanted to.
"Don't call me princess, kid." Thalia said. It was obvious that the blonde was younger than her, despite her tall frame. She knew that she had to be one, at least two years older than her, just by the youth in her face. "Thalia. The name's Thalia. And you would be?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. But the girl's questions didn't cease, and she asked why she was out here. "That's really none of your business, Blondie." Thalia snapped. She wasn't the type of person to allow herself to be subjected to an interrogation by someone that she didn't know. Hades, she didn't allow herself to be questioned that she did know, much less by someone that she didn't know. This aggravated her, but she didn't say anything. She'd wait for the blonde to speak, because if she said anything else, she'd end up ranting at the girl. Thalia didn't think of her as a huge problem - more of an annoyance, really. An annoyance with a serious attitude problem. She wondered if she was a daughter of Hermes, with a mouth like that. She was rude, rude in a way that the Stoll Brothers had pretty much made their own. But the Stoll Brothers were amusing, they made jokes out of everything. This blonde seemed to be completely serious. Thalia would've thought her to be a daughter of Ares if she didn't have such light hair and light eyes. She bit down on her tongue, eyebrow still raised, and waited for the blonde to speak.
